This work takes its name and form from the remains of a folly, located in Seaton Sluice and allegedly constructed within 24 hours. By incorporating a 24 hour field recording from the site, an audio recording documenting the construction of the work in the gallery, and a synthesiser self-generating noises of random pitch and timbre, the work investigates the power structures implicit in the commissioning of a useless building, and the value of labour performed by forgotten or invisible hands.
